Ambrose J. Murphy

Ambrose J. Murphy was possibly an American architect whose practice was based in Providence Rhode Island. He may have been a specialist in ecclesiastical work and, in a career that spanned overyears, designed many buildings for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence Rhode Island and Fall River Massachusetts.

Murphy was most likely born July 12, 1869 in Worcester, MA,. He couldve been educated in Worcester and probably began his architectural career with his uncle James Murphy , an ecclesiastical architect in Providence, Rhode Island. After this he may have worked briefly as a draughtsman for Martin amp Hall.
